Wow, the "Cougar" still has it! In fact, I'd say he's better than ever. The Hits of the 80s' has always been one of my favorites, but I had never had the chance to see him perform live until last week. Great show, great energy, all those who attended got their money's worth and then some. If someone had told me Jack & Diane would be performed as a kind of "western swing" number prior to the concert, I would have probably cried instead of laughed. But it not only worked - it was perfect! Following the concert, I told my wife I thought we were actually fortunate we had the chance to first see Total Eclipse of the Charts - The Hits of the 80s as he approaches 60 rather than when he was just becoming a star - his songwriting and music have evolved so much through the years. The versatility of Mellencamp and his band is amazing - who plays more different kinds of music as well? John has kicked ass his entire career - and he's still kickin'!
